Welcome to the Summer 2017 edition!

At this time of the year, plenty of us get inspired by Wimbledon to dust down the old racket and enjoy the summer with a game of tennis. Or perhaps your little ones got you down to the park to kick a ball while the weather lasts. There is something about the summer months that make us feel stronger, fitter, happier… and now we know it’s that magic pill, sunshine, or rather vitamin D we form in our bodies when exposed to a few rays.
In this edition we bring you the usual installment of inspirational stories, from Ashley Winter’s quest to enjoy life despite his health condition, to John Appleby’s fight with cancer, and Rosemary’s journey to recovery with the Chrysalis Effect programme.
Read more about two remarkable football players Dylan Malpas and Dan English in a profile written by their personal trainer Gareth Bennett. Meanwhile, Halo Leisure, John Kyrle Gym and St. Michael’s Hospice each present you with their own events that you can join to test what you are made of.
On the subject of health, a number of our writers contributed their thoughts and advice to those suffering the symptoms of osteoarthritis.
Enjoy making (and eating) healthy salads inspired by a recipe provided by The Muse Cafe in Ledbury, and try out the freshly made juices by Kiki’s Juice Bar, they really are a delicious treat!

In our Beauty section, Bella Goode advises ladies on the subject of makeup while working out (yes, it is possible) and Lucy May Jenkins introduces the concept of facial yoga in Herefordshire. A few minutes of facial exercises, combined with a good beauty regime and a healthy lifestyle, can go a long way towards maintaining a youthful complexion, whatever age we are. Meanwhile, the newly opened salon Rebel Rock Hair & MakeUp continues to stir with their exciting styling, whatever the occasion you are preparing for.
I hope you enjoy this edition’s collection of articles on health, fitness, dance, sport and adventure, as well as food and beauty, not forgetting your favourite – competitions. I would like to thank all our readers, but also those who advertise with us, write great articles and forward their ideas and feedback. Thank you to FIT store, The Great British Florist, and to Arbonne Leominster for offering the prizes for the competition winners.
Look forward to your feedback!
