As a Community Interest Company (CIC), Body Language School of Dance provides dance classes and dance related activities for fun, fitness and professional dancers of all ages and abilities. The age range of students covers tots, children, teens, students and adults.
We are an IDTA Dance School specialising in Freestyle Dance but we also have classes in Street Dance, Contemporary and Ballet. Additionally, you can try Dance 4 Fun and DDMIX Dance Fitness, whilst those who want to take their training to another level can take part in workshops and private lessons, and we can also prepare students for dance exams.
Our teams regularly perform at events, so dancers can join in the Community Displays, Annual Showcases and our Professional Display Teams.
During school holidays, we entertain and educate children in a variety of dance styles and dance related activities. Mobile dance teachers and choreographers regularly visit local schools and clubs, running projects within the local community, including fun activities for our dancers and their friends to enjoy. Master Classes with Guest Dancers and Choreographers are a regular feature at our school.
Student Development Courses are available for those aged 13-16 years who are interested in helping out within our dance classes.
Dance Teacher Training is offered to those wanting to go into teaching, with full support and classes offered to them at the dance school at the end of their course.
Body Language is more than just a dance school, it is a family, and our studio is a home away from home for many of our dancers. All dancers play a very special role in the look of the studio and what classes and activities take place here. Our aim is to offer all dancers the opportunities to develop their skills and interests the way they like, and we encourage everyone to try new things that benefit their learning.
When you see the dancers perform with their heart, you will see why actions speak louder than words –our vision is to teach life skills and values through dance. We flow with what we feel the community and our dancers need so we constantly evolve and adapt. This is why we are a CIC and no two years are ever the same.
