Make This Your New Year Resolution: Eat More Fruit And Vegetables

In & Around Monmouth, Wye Valley And Herefordshire

Sourcing all the recipe ingredients, peeling, chopping, boiling…it all takes too long, I hear you say. It doesn’t have to! If you prepare your vegetables in bulk, a stir fry only takes a few minutes to make.

By changing around the vegetables you can create an infinite variety of meals, and you’ll never get bored. Any leftover vegetables in your fridge are ideal to pop into a stew, and if you have a surplus, why not freeze some portions for healthy, home made ‘fast’ food?

Eating more fruit and vegetables is the easiest way to look after your good gut bacteria. For example, leeks, onions, garlic and cabbage are all great prebiotics – they provide the type of dietary fibre that feeds the friendly gut bacteria, producing nutrients that lead to better health. They form a brilliant basis for many meals, and add a delicious flavour.

Monmouth greengrocers Munday & Jones sell and deliver a wide range of fruit and vegetables, but also milk, butter, cheese, eggs and honey. The produce can be delivered to your home or office, and the box scheme starts from £10, covering the area in and around Monmouth and Wye Valley, with Herefordshire also an option where possible.

You can have your box prepared from seasonal produce or as a bespoke selection, with many organic options to choose from too. For weekly offers please view the website or contact the shop.
