When our bodies benefit from the harmony and the right relationships between the many elements that constitute our being, such as physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, we feel healthy, balanced and energetic. When this balance is disturbed in any way then we become susceptible to illness and develop symptoms. The holistic approach to healing views these symptoms as inherently meaningful messages, signalling disharmony and informing us where and how we may restore balance. This philosophy is at the heart of Monmouth Natural Health Centre, set up  with the aim of providing a wide choice of complementary natural therapies to assist you in the process of healing.

Using both ancient and modern techniques, our practitioners strive to enhance the body’s natural vitality and capacity for self-healing. We seek to find the underlying cause of disease, rather than simply treating symptoms. The origin of illness may be very different in individual, although superficially similar cases, so treatments may vary considerably. We advocate the active participation of patients in the healing process, and this means encouraging everyone to take a greater responsibility for their health.

Our therapists are professionally trained, qualified and insured and are members of their relevant professional bodies with appropriate codes of ethics. All are happy to work in a complementary way with your G.P. or specialist should this be required. You are welcome to have an informal chat with any therapist before you make your choice of treatment.

Appointment times vary between the therapies from half an hour to an hour and a half. The regularity and number of sessions required can vary with the different treatments, depending on individual factors such as the severity and duration of the complaint, your age, overall state of health and so on.

Initial assessment

Your first session is generally longer to enable a full assessment to be made. It is wise to inform your practitioner of any prescribed drugs that you may be taking or any other treatments that you are receiving.
