TRX is a suspension based training tool, which was invented by a navy seal so he and his fellow seals could have a full body workout wherever they were. TRX is short for total body resistance exercise, so you will get a complete full body resistance session in each TRX class. One of the main benefits of using the TRX is that every exercise makes you use your core stabilizers so even if you are not directly working on your core you will still get all the great benefits of doing core training!
It doesn’t matter if you are an exercise newbie or an advanced athlete, TRX is suitable for all abilities, as all the exercises can be toned down to make it achievable or ramped up to make it extremely challenging.
This small group training session focuses on exercises that will make you move better, feel better and function better. The session starts off with a mobility warm up to help your joints achieve a better range of movement, and to prepare your muscles for exercise.
We follow the warm up with coaching on the different exercises, focusing on postural correction, glute and core activation, and unilateral (single limb) exercises. Once you’ve been coached and had a bit of practice at the exercises, you can then do a mini circuit to increase the intensity of the session and get your heart rate up.
SPIN CONDITIONING Tuesdays 7.45pm
This class is a fusion of two favourite fitness classes, spin and circuits. It is a high intensity class so you will certainly get a good sweat on, alternating in five minute blocks of work.
For example, a 5 minute hill climb on the bike, followed by 5 minutes of upper body exercise, then back on the bike for speed work, followed by lower body resistance work, then back in the saddle and finishing off with core! Although this is a tough class, the intensity can be modified for beginners. If you want to get fit and strong, and burn lots of calories in one session, this is the class for you.
